Speaker Bio

Vimbai Mukori is a multifaceted neurodiversity specialist, associate occupational therapist, trainer, speaker, author, and entrepreneur. She has over ten years of experience working in health, education, and social care settings, focusing on empowering people with autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to thrive and exceed their potential.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in science honours from Coventry University, where she developed a passion for evidence-based practice. “As an occupational therapist, I am acutely aware of the importance of evidence-based practice,” she says. Vimbai has fostered a lifelong commitment to education and believes that everyone should have access to the right information.

Her role has allowed her to use her people skills to advocate for her clients and peers with the goal of improving healthcare delivery for all.

Vimbai is known for her ability to deliver quick, efficient outcomes, even in the most challenging situations. While working in neurology and orthopaedics at London’s largest NHS Trust (Barts Health), she was agile at adapting to complex scenarios, making her solutions-oriented, which is why she stood out.

Her passion for neurodiversity was borne from her struggles as a graduate, where she had a hard time “just getting it” and “fitting in.” Her unique perspective of living in Africa, North America, and England has given her an insight into different values, beliefs, cultures, and expectations. “I can relate to many of the challenges that people with neurodiversity face,” she says, adding that her experiences allow her to celebrate what makes us different.

Vimbai’s advocacy work and experience in autism diagnostics and ADHD treatment have led her to develop proficiency in providing functional and practical treatment plans, advocacy and training to service users and service networks. She has empowered and educated individuals and institutions globally to embrace their uniqueness, discover their essential needs, and thrive.

As a neurodiversity speaker, Vimbai drives her point home dynamically, leaving a lasting memory on her audience. She has completed a master’s module in counselling skills from London South Bank University, which enabled her to develop her communication and listening skills further.

Infectiously optimistic and determined to make a difference, Vimbai’s personality is her strongest asset. She engages with clients in a dynamic and memorable way, making her a valuable asset to institutions looking to increase awareness, sensitivity and relevance to the critical values of diversity and inclusion. Vimbai has a straightforward mission: to help institutions and individuals understand and embrace neurodiversity and create inclusive environments that cater to all. She is a thought leader and an inspiration to anyone who aspires to make a difference in their work and community.
